Electronic gravel shifting used to feel like a luxury. GRX Di2 makes it feel like the obvious choice: crisp, consistent and entirely unbothered by mud, ice or a fortnight away from a charger.

The bottom line

It just shifts — in the cold, the wet, all season long.

The review

The ergonomics are the standout — the hoods are made for rough ground and gloved hands, and the shift logic never leaves you hunting. Battery life across a long tour is a non-issue.

It is a real investment, and a mechanical setup will get you everywhere for far less money. But once you have ridden a frozen morning where every shift still lands, it is hard to go back.
