A rain shell lives or dies on whether you actually carry it. The Zoa packs to the size of a fist and weighs almost nothing, so it is always there when the sky turns — and it earns its keep once it does.

The review

The fabric breathes far better than its waterproofing has any right to, so you are not boiling on a damp climb. Cut for a riding position, it stays put and the cuffs seal over gloves.

In hours-long downpours you will eventually feel it wet out at the shoulders, as every packable shell does. For its weight and packed size, the protection-to-grams ratio is the best we have tested.
