Södra Sverige Runt is a big, honest lap of the country's southern half — five days out of Jönköping that trace a wide circle through the Småland highlands, down to the flat farmland and beaches of Skåne, west along the Halland coast, and back north into Gothenburg. Nothing about it is exotic; that's the point. It's ordinary Swedish road cycling stacked up until it becomes something bigger than the sum of its days — forest one morning, coastline the next, a ferry-town harbour by the third evening. Pack for changeable weather in every direction and expect the wind to have an opinion at least once a day.
